GIS Specialist

Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a GIS-specific role
  • Experience with Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcGIS Online (Field Maps, Survey123, Experience Builder, Dashboards)
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Field experience using a GPS collection device a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Field experience using a GPS collection device a plus
  • AutoCAD or Civil3D experience a plus
  • Experience interpreting land record data, deeds, and filed maps a plus
  • This is a GISP-track position
  • Candidate should possess good communication, verbal, and technical writing skills.
  • The applicant must have a valid driver’s license or be able to secure a valid New Jersey driver’s license at time of employment

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ArcGIS web applications and dashboards
  • Review projects completed by Technicians and Interns
  • Provide Project Management support
  • Create, Maintain, and Organize geographic and tabular data in various geodatabase settings
  • Provide final deliverables for static and interactive mapping
  • Perform field work in all weather conditions on an as-needed basis
  • Provide data digitizing support at a municipal-wide scale
  • Research information materials and data sources
  • Support and work directly with GIS Manager and Survey/Geospatial Department Head
