The Town of Kearny found themselves in need of a long-term flood relief solution after having relied on an insufficient temporary pumping system since Hurricane Sandy destroyed the original. Neglia Group provided Engineering services to ensure the Town would be equipped with impressive structures, electrical controls, generators, and pumps. The two new submersible closed-coupled, axial-flow pumps collectively boast an impressive hydraulic capacity of approximately 52,000 gpm, a remarkable tenfold increase compared to the capacity of the existing emergency pumps. The project included repairs to the wet well, implementation of a state-of-the-art SCADA System for remote control, and the installation of a standby generator for emergencies. The Pumping Station effectively and efficiently protects the local industrial, commercial, and residential zones.
