Professional Civil Engineer / Client Manager

Experience and Requirements

  • Professional Engineer’s License in good standing in New Jersey.
  • Candidate should possess good communication, verbal, and technical writing skills. As well as handling client and public meetings.
  • Ability to project manage including budgets and due dates.
  • Familiarity with regulating permitting.
  • Professional Planning License a plus, but not required.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of engineering plans, specifications and costs for municipalities capital improvement projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project planning, including providing recommendations, preparing cost estimates, and developing solutions
  • Site plan design and preparation of specifications
  • Preparation of and management of NJDOT Local Aid, Open Space, and CDBG grant applications and programs.
  • Represent the Firm at Public Meetings
  • Financial project tracking and budget analysis
  • Provide project team support (internal and external)
  • High level client interaction and management
  • Coordination of project tasks with sub-consultants
  • Preparation of Public Bid Documents
  • Management and Training of Staff

Traffic Division Manager

Neglia Group is seeking a Division Manager to lead and grow our Traffic Engineering Division at our Lyndhurst, New Jersey location. The position is presented as an opportunity to grow a division with a solid client base that needs the next level of service from a focused and driven manager that brings insightful solutions to intractable local congestion issues.
We are looking for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and technology minded individual who will be responsible for the management of municipal and regional traffic engineering and transportation planning work such as NJDOT Access Permits, Traffic Impact Studies, review of traffic submittals by land use board applicants and the appearances before land use boards as an expert in traffic engineering.
Our services extend throughout northern and central New Jersey and into New York. The successful candidate will report to the firm’s Director of Transportation.

Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with associated Transportation Engineering coursework
  • Professional Engineering license preferred but willing to interview licensure candidates
  • 4 years of Transportation Engineering experience and knowledge of general civil engineering and surveying related projects
  • Working knowledge of capacity and level of service software such as HCS
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD a plus
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work when needed
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate in both verbal and written form
  • A valid New Jersey Driver’s license

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely implementation of Transportation Engineering related projects
  • Assist in the development and oversight of Transportation Engineering projects including defining requirements and tasks to ensure deadlines are met
  • Scope and execute Transportation Engineering projects such as traffic studies and signal designs
  • Provide succinct and coherent testimony before New Jersey Municipal Planning and Zoning Boards
  • Communicate with internal and external clients in a professional manner
  • Seek and develop opportunities for personal and departmental growth

Survey Crew Chief

Neglia Group is seeking a full time Field Surveyor / Crew Chief to join our expanding Survey team at our Lyndhurst, New Jersey location. This individual should be highly motivated and hardworking and will be responsible for the completion of survey related assignments while supervising and mentoring fellow survey crew members. Our services extend throughout northern and central New Jersey and into New York. Our survey team uses the latest technologies to meet the complex needs of our internal and external clients. We complete Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Utility Surveys, Route Surveys, Construction Layout, FEMA related Surveys, and more.

  • Additional courses towards a surveying related degree or CST qualifications a plus
  • A valid New Jersey Driver’s license is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with a land surveying crew
  • Familiarity with data collection for boundary, topographic, and utility surveys
  • Thorough knowledge of data collection for conventional and GPS survey methods
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and equipment
  • Ability to work outside in all seasons
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks such as lifting and carrying equipment over rough terrain
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Party Chief preferred
  • 30 hour OSHA & 10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety preferred
  • Experience using Leica conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with construction layout methods preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology
  • Work as an individual (when requested) to complete assigned tasks in an accurate and efficient manner
  • Perform field reconnaissance of evidence and make appropriate decisions on how to proceed with the survey
  • Work safely
  • Make necessary calculations and maintain adequate records of work performed, including photographs
  • Download field collected data
  • Ensure equipment and vehicle are maintained properly
  • Maintain inventory of all assigned equipment
  • Communicate with entire survey team, including project managers, to maximize efficiency
  • Communicate with clients in a professional manner
  • Determine most efficient means to complete assignments using the tools available
  • Never stop learning

Licensed Landscape Architect

Neglia Group is a family oriented company with over 60 years of experience in surveying, engineering, and construction management. Neglia Group is seeking a full-time Licensed Landscape Architect to work at its Lyndhurst office location. A successful candidate will be able to perform all aspects of their primary responsibilities, while assisting other Neglia Engineering Site / Civil Professionals. The candidate should also be able to work and interact directly with clients and various municipal and governmental agencies. The candidate shall have experience in both urban landscape / hardscape design, park design, residential design, streetscape design, commercial design, site plan reviews and landscape construction inspection.

Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelors and/or Master of Science of Landscape Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Landscape Architecture
  • Proficiency in Land Development
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include sketch and construction document plan preparation, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) of site layouts, site grading, landscaping, lighting, and grant application preparation. This position will provide opportunities for growth and additional responsibility within the firm. Additional tasks include site plan review of other professional’s designs, landscape construction management, and client management.
