Water Main Replacement

Neglia Group was asked to provide a topographical survey of approximately 1500 linear feet of roadway for a water main replacement project along one of the busiest roadways within the borough. After review, it was decided that 3D Laser Scanning was the best tool to use to safely collect the field data without the need for lane closures. The area was scanned, point cloud data was then registered and tied to existing survey control. Office staff then drafted the topographical features extracted from the scan data. During the project design phase, additional data was requested beyond the initial scope. Since the scanner records data within in line of sight, this additional data had already been collected and therefore was quickly added to the original survey. This saved time and money for our client.
