Senior Design Engineer, EIT – PE Track

Experience and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Civil Engineering.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in Site Civil and/or Municipal Engineering.
  3. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
  4. Passing of Professional Engineer (PE) Examination is a plus, but not required.
  5. Candidate should possess good communication, verbal, and technical writing skills.
  6. Software experience must include: Civil 3D, Hydraflow Hydrographs, Hydraflow Storm Sewers, AutoTurn/Vehicle Tracking (Civil 3D), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Experience in Site, Grading, Drainage, Utility, Erosion Control, and Lighting Design.
  8. Experience in the preparation of Construction Details, Technical Specifications, and Technical Design Reports.
  9. Experience in permitting for the following agencies: NJDEP, NJDOT, Soil Conservation Districts.
  10. Experience in analyzing local zoning ordinances.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Support and work directly with Professional Engineer.
  2. Preparation of concept plans, full site plan package designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
  3. Preparation of NJDOT Local Aid, Open Space, and CDBG grant applications and programs.
  4. Review of Site Plan and Subdivision applications.
  5. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project goals are met.
  6. Coordination of project tasks with sub-consultants.
  7. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to inform design decisions.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  9. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineer support staff.
