Career Opportunity for Regional/Chief Inspector in our Construction Department
Neglia Group is looking for talented, energetic and self-motivated employees with good communication skills for Regional/Chief Inspector position in our Lyndhurst and Mountainside offices in New Jersey. This is a senior and strategic position responsible for ensuring overall quality, compliance and adherence to the project specifications and standards. The successful candidate will manage and provide guidance to the inspection team. The candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities of all inspectors within their region.
Candidate will need to communicate with the prime contractor, municipal representatives, traffic control personnel, utility companies and representatives from various agencies. Ideal candidate must have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle conflict with diplomacy and tact. Candidate will oversee QA/QC, regulatory compliance, construction progress monitoring, and safety management, review inspection reports, problem solve, train and develop, and provide final inspection acceptance, and project closeout.

Construction Management Regional/Chief Inspector
Experience and Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in construction of roadways, utilities, public work, and site improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- NICET Certification required, including ACI and SAT Certification.
- Current Active Driver’s License and vehicle.
- Candidate should possess good communication, verbal, and technical writing skills.
- Proficient in preparing daily reports utilizing a computer/laptop/tablet.
- Direct and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and regulations.
- Supervises team of construction inspectors; provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure effective project execution.
- Assist Director in allocating resources effectively to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee contract management and assist in negotiations to ensure terms are favorable and contracts are fulfilled.
- Identifying potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and liabilities during construction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide regular progress reports to director and principals; document project milestones, challenges, and outcomes for review and analysis.
- Responsible for tracking of construction sequencing, cost, scheduling, and contractor performance.
- QA/QC of contract documents.
- Train and develop field inspectors.
- Assist the project engineer with project administration.
